Introducing Sandy Guy
A highly experienced media all-rounder, Sandy Guy has worked in media for more than 30 years. Sandy is a trained journalist, has a BA in Professional Writing, has freelanced for 20 years, and has contributed to more than 100 publictions worldwide. She has written anything from regular newspaper columns to in-depth feature articles, comedy scripts and short stories to food and travel - and everything in between. Sandy's broad experience across a wide range of high-profile publications means she can write to any genre, any style.
Sandy's passion for travel hasn't abated since 1975, when she drove an EH Holden from Victoria to far north Queensland. She has backpacked around Europe with her children on a shoestring budget, hiked remote areas of Papua New Guinea, canoed piranha-infested waters in Brazil, taken tea with the Duchess of York, explored ancient sites across the British Isles, and crossed several Australian deserts - to name a few. Sandy loves to inspire others to take the road less travelled.
A long-time member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers, Sandy has contributed to a number travel books and guides, most recently Australia Walkabout - travel experiences in Aboriginal Australia and the Torres Strait Islands; Viva List Latin America, and Best Foot Forward - 30 years of Australian Travel Writing.
